Continued problem: Search begun from webpage rather than within Voyager lacks features of system

Search from TEST (Jan.8,2008) : http://voyager.tcs.tulane.edu:7005/

1. Keyword search with “eye” in Test database.

2. PROBLEM: When an OPAC keyword search is begun from the Libraries webpages or MyTulane, (brief search) "Sort by:" does not work from the display screen in Voyager OPAC. The gray search bar is also missing. Compare to screen with same search from within Voyager, (try sorting by date).

This happens in our current installation of Voyager.

The gray search bar and sort feature were probably added to Voyager after the code for the search was created for the Howard-Tilton website. The Matas Library using the same code and has the same outcome. The same thing happens if the search is done from the blackboard,
MyTulane.

Suggestion: We investigate if the code used for this search can be updated with the new version.

Upgrade

Our next upgrade is January 10-11, 2008. The backup catalog will be available during the catalog downtime.

Preview Server available

Our customizations are set up in the Preview Server, available at: http://voyager.tcs.tulane.edu:7005. Please let me know if you notice any problems.

Please note that the preview server does not point to Tulane's database so the records, locations and course reserves information will not be localized for Tulane.
